not necessarily fit for a Tucson : TYC 800051P Hyundai Tucson Replacement Cabin Air Filter

I received this and immediately proceeded to install it on my newly acquired preowned 2007 Hyundai Tucson GLS. The old cabin air filter looked as if it had never been replaced and my allergies couldn't wait for fresher air. In any case, this filter was too wide by about an inch. I had to scissor and tape it to make it fit, but it seems fine. One side has nylon netting to support the filter; similar to home ac air filters that use a light wire netting, the material seems fibrous and dense enough to block pollutants such as pollen, smoke and exhaust from outside sources. However, if I have to alter it to make it fit, I might as well buy a large home type ac filter and cut it to size, so I doubt I'll reorder this one.


** update 6-6-2011: after having this installed for a couple of weeks, I have to add that this filter does not block pollution such as those fumes from the diesel vehicle that's driving near you, the smoker flicking their ashes out the window next to you at the red light, or those tempting restaurant aromas. So if you absolutely need a pollution blocking filter, this ain't it.
